I keep seeing these posts about how people who want to romance Dorian as a female Inquisitor are on the same level of his father, but they aren’t. they really, truly aren’t.

do you know why? because when he found out his father was planning on doing the blood magic ritual, Dorian left. he picked up and left his home and ran across continents to get away from that life. he saved himself.

but when you, as a player, mod Dorian to romance him as a female Inquisitor, you’re taking away that choice and the agency that makes Dorian such a vibrant character. you’re disregarding him and his development just because you want him to get with your Inquisitor. and he can’t save himself from you.

Dorian’s father opted to try blood magic because he’s a traditionalist with skewed, homophobic views to match the world he was raised in. modders who use the power they have to mod Dorian into a straight relationship are disgusting and selfish and vile people with no sense of empathy, willing to force their heteronormative shit on a fictional character who cannot defend himself.

so yeah. fuck that. fuck saying they’re “just as bad as Dorian’s father.”

no, they’re worse.
