Do you think Dalish clans have traditional songs they sing? Do you think it differs between clans? Maybe some songs have the same lyrics, but different tunes because no one really remembers how the music is supposed to sound. Maybe they even have traditional dances to go with them.
Imagine Lavellan singing the songs of their clan to themselves as they take care of the more tedious aspects of life, like sharpening a blade or fixing an arrow or making healing salves. They time their actions to the beat of the drum in their mind, smiling as the song takes them back to a simpler time and place.
Imagine Lavellan sings to themselves as they wander Skyhold, the echoes of their songs floating through its grand halls. They teach the songs to anyone who wants to know, and eventually come up with new ones for their new family in the Inquisition.
Imagine Lavellan teaching the songs and any corresponding dances to children of villages they pass through, trying to both put spirits at ease and help bridge the cultural gaps of Thedas’s differing races. The fathers and mothers find themselves singing the songs after hearing the children sing them so often. Bards pick up the songs and spread them even further.
Imagine traditional songs from Clan Lavellan becoming as much a symbol for the hope of the Inquisition as Andrastian imagery.
